Start of the Christmas Rush

Hey ho. Another weekend.

Pretty jampacked though! I'm going to attend two christening parties on both days. One is the christening of our neighbor's one-month-old baby, the other is my childhood friend's little girl. I'm proud that I was able to prepare in advance....me who's so lousy with dates and all.^^;; I'm also excited to see my friend and our summer barkada. The last time we saw each other was at her wedding.:)

Tonight, there's also a party in our village that my mom is insisting that we attend. I really don't like the idea of mingling with other neighbors though for some reason...labo ba? Blame it on my mom who has always something negative to say about the neighbors.:( Although I could already hear my officemate/seatmate telling me it's my chance to meet potential clients.^^;; Hay... so for a more "altruistic" motive I'm just gonna say I want to attend mainly to see the improvements the homeowners' association were able to institute on our clubhouse.

My former housemates in college and I are planning to watch this movie, 'Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros', a movie about the coming of age of an adolescent who happened to be gay. The premise of the movie sounds interesting, and I want to make the most out of the movies being shown prior to the filmfest...hehe. I'm happy that things are looking up for the local cinema, and they're coming up with stories that have heart...and I'm not referring to those insipid, escapist love stories with love teams in it.

And of course, there's the slew of take home work, whether it may be project related or christmas decor-related. I still have to finish the door jamb and threshold details for the clubhouse, and I told my decor committee mates I'd do some of the trimmings for the stage.

I received the latest PLDT phone bill just now, and it occurred to me that this might be the first time I have to give an ampao of sorts to the PLDT bill collector since it's my line to begin with...wehehe. Adult thing! Usually my mom's the one who usually fills those envelopes.
